Fully Engaged
For some time in this blog series, we have been dealing with the ideas of activation and engagement of the Kingdom in our lives. What would it look like if we really believed what Jesus said about His Kingdom? What would it look like if we actually appropriated the power of the Kingdom and engaged the eternal realm for all that we need?
Why do so few of us take advantage of the fullness of power freely offered to us?
I have been a pilot for over fifty years (since the Vietnam War), and still think like a pilot. The following metaphor has played in my mind regarding our power in the Kingdom, and our failure to engage and appropriate it.
When we accept Christ into our lives as our Savior and as our Redeemer, we immediately become a legally registered Citizen of Heaven, and as such we are approved for full participation in His Kingdom Realm. We are not only Citizens, but we are sons and daughters. We are family. We have full access to everything that is found in Heaven and to all that is provided in His Kingdom Realm. This is our heritage. This is our authority, and this is our dominion. We are heirs and joint heirs with Jesus. It all belongs to us by birthright. We are more than Christians. We are family with full access to all that belongs to family.
The performance of His Kingdom Realm in our lives can be compared to the performance of a Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II, an amazing aircraft. Some say it is the greatest fighter jet ever built. Our functioning in the realm, or the dimension, of the Kingdom System as our operating system on the earth enables us to perform at a level that is comparable, but better than the performance of the F-35 in our earthly atmosphere. This is what our engagement in the Kingdom Realm of Heaven while we are here on the earth provides and what it delivers to us as Citizens of His Kingdom and as sons and daughters while we are on our time journey. We have access and we are instructed to engage Heaven in all our situations, all our circumstances, and all our relationships.
The F-35 has excellent stealth capabilities. It is difficult for the enemy to detect. Often the enemy does not see it coming until it has accomplished its mission and delivered its ordinance. The F-35 has one of the largest and most powerful armament capabilities in the world and can maintain stealth when carrying the ordinance. The F-35 is fast -- Mach 1.6, or 1,261 miles per hour. The aircraft travels about a mile every three seconds. The aircraft is supersonic. It performs beyond the barrier of sound. All the instruments and the systems operate by voice identification and are activated by the sound of the Pilot’s voice.
The aircraft is a single-seat, single-engine, all-weather stealth multirole combat aircraft that is intended to perform both air superiority and strike missions. It is also able to provide electronic warfare and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities that are unequalled. The surveillance and intelligence systems operate faster than the plane is flying, and can identify the enemy targets, prioritize them as to their threat and take them out in seconds.
There is much more. I could continue. But what I would like for you to do is everywhere I have described the F-35 and its abilities; I would like for you to substitute the Kingdom of God and its abilities. It is amazing how accurately the description parallels and is true of the power and the ability we have in the Kingdom of our God.
I sometimes believe that we are hanging on to the Piper Cub in which we learned to fly, when our God has given us full and complete access to His Kingdom that can outperform a F-35.
Take it out of the hangar. Use it. The Kingdom of God is at your disposal.
Our challenge? Believe our God and His Word and engage His Kingdom in every area of our lives. Hold back nothing. Go after it with all our might. We are single pilots with voice activated response. The power lever is in our hands. Push the throttle forward and hang on. Watch what our God will do. Experience the joy and the power of the Kingdom of our God. The world is anxiously looking for our engagement and for the manifestation of His Kingdom.
Glory be to our God forever.
