Absolutes

Last week, we defined and discussed the concept of relativisms -- beliefs that may be accurate, but their greater value is in their relationship to another reality that is absolute and that does not change. This week we turn our attention to absolutes.

To function and to operate effectively and efficiently on our time journey, we must have, and we must operate from, a stable and an unchanging platform. A platform that is absolute, exists by itself independently, and does not require validation from anyone or from anything else.

This is what we are to use to work down from the relativisms in our life. We gain understanding and guidance to correctly address all of the relativisms that we face continually.

Our King, the unchanging Person of Jesus Christ and His unchanging Word, and the unshakeable Kingdom realm of our God are the absolutes that humanity is provided for their use in addressing and in evaluating all of the relativisms on the earth.  When we build our lives upon the unshakeable Kingdom and the unchanging Person of Christ, we have a transcendent vantage point from which to make choices, live our lives, discern the validity of the relativisms we face, and understand our reality.
