Everywhere You Go
The prayer Jesus taught His disciples and modeled for us to pray begins with His Kingdom charge. What did He mean when He said for us to pray for, “Your Kingdom to come, and for His/Your will to be done on the earth as it is in Heaven?” Was He saying, “as it is in Heaven, so be it on the earth?”
Let’s look at a couple of translations of that portion of our governing agreement.
Matthew 6:9,10,13 AMPC:
9 "Pray, therefore, like this: Our Father Who is in heaven, hallowed (kept holy) be Your name.10 Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. 13 And lead (bring) us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen."
The Passion Translation of the tenth verse says this:
Matthew 6:10 TPT - "Manifest your kingdom realm and cause your every purpose to be fulfilled on earth, just as it is in heaven."
Wow!!! Your every purpose fulfilled on the earth? What does the statement, “Your every purpose” mean? This clearly points to the reality that the Kingdom of our God is not a limited realm or a restricted reign. The Kingdom is not just a partial reign nor is the Kingdom limited to an “only applicable here” reality or functionality.
The Kingdom is not just for religious things nor is the Kingdom just for things regarding church. For everything that we encounter in our lives on the earth, there is a Kingdom application.
Everything that we do as a husband, a wife, a son, a daughter, a doctor, a lawyer, and an Indian chief. Everything we do has a Kingdom application and a Kingdom functionality. Wherever we are, we are to represent and to birth the Kingdom into those situations. We are to present the face, the plan and the Kingdom will of our God everywhere.
